Our society is devoted to all aspects of philately associated with United States Possessions and related areas.

Our areas of interest includes all U.S. Possessions, U.S. Administrative Areas, and U.S. Post Offices Abroad. Some of these are: Canal Zone, Cuba, Danish West Indies/U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Hawaii, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Ryukyus, American Samoa, U.S. Offices in China, other U.S. Offices Abroad such as military expeditions in Haiti, Nicaragua, Vera Cruz, Mexico, Europe, and Siberia, and Allied Military Governments and U.S. Military Rule of Italy, Trieste, France, Germany, Austria, Korea, and Japan.

Founded in 1978 with 17 charter members. The USPPS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization devoted to the study of all U.S. possessions, U.S. administrative areas, and U.S. post offices abroad.
The USPPS is an affiliated chapter of the American Philatelic Society (APS). The APS is largest, non-profit organization for stamp collectors in the world. Founded in 1886, the APS serves collectors, educators, postal historians, and the general public by providing a wide variety of programs and services.

Possessions - The official journal of the USPPS. It is published quarterly and edited by Len McMaster.
